Complication of Endoleak and Retrograde Type A Dissection after Stenting of a Ruptured Type B Dissection

چکیده
Acute aortic syndromes including aortic rupture remain lifethreatening, and represent a unique area in cardiovascular surgery. Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has become widely accepted as a major option in the treatment of thoracic aortic diseases, particularly for emergency patients such as those with a ruptured dissection [1,2]. We report a case with type B aortic dissection that ruptured into the left hemithorax.

Endovascular stenting of a chronic ruptured type B thoracic aortic dissection, a second chance: a case report
INTRODUCTION We aim to highlight the need for awareness of late complications of endovascular thoracic aortic stenting and the need for close follow-up of patients treated by this method. CASE PRESENTATION We report the first case in the English literature of an endovascular repair of a previously stented, ruptured chronic Stanford type B thoracic aortic dissection re-presenting with a type I...
متن کاملSystematic review of outcomes of combined proximal stent-grafting with distal bare stenting for management of aortic dissection.
OBJECTIVE Available data on outcomes of combined proximal stent-grafting with distal bare stenting for management of aortic dissection are limited. The objective of this study was to provide a systematic review of outcomes of this approach. METHODS Studies involving combined proximal stent-grafting with distal bare stenting for management of aortic dissection were systematically searched and ...
متن کاملRetrograde type A aortic dissection after endovascular stent graft placement for treatment of type B dissection.
BACKGROUND Retrograde type A aortic dissection has been deemed a rare complication after endovascular stent graft placement for type B dissection. However, this life-threatening event appears to be underrecognized and is worth being investigated further. METHODS AND RESULTS Eleven of 443 patients developed retrograde type A aortic dissection during or after stent grafting for type B dissectio...
متن کاملSuccessful Repair of Type a Aortic Dissection in a Term Pregnancy: A Case Report
Stanford type A acute aortic dissection (AAD) is a very rare complication, with potentially lethal consequences in pregnancy. In fact, pregnancy has been regularly associated with the possibility of aortic. dissection in almost half of young women. Herein, we present the case of a 38-year-old woman in her 37th week of pregnancy. The patient’s medical history was indicative of G4L2Ab1(4 gestaiti...
متن کاملAtypical Presentation of a Type 2 Endoleak following Emergency Open Repair of a Ruptured Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
BACKGROUND An endoleak is a common complication following EVAR. Specifically, a Type 2 endoleak occurs because of retrograde flow from lumbar vessels outside the endograft within the aneurysm sac. Even though it is common following EVAR, it has not been identified as a complication following open ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair. REPORT A 73-year-old male underwent open repair ...
